Capt mike and hand josh were awesome guys, down to earth, knowledgeable about fishing and their plans.  The trip out was fun (2.5 hr boat trips rarely are) with their talk and awesome music playlist that fit our tastes perfectly (country/rock/a little pop).  The fish were there and we caught plenty.  Unfortunately, the baracudas and dolphins liked us too, stealig our fish before we could land them sometimes…  but the videos and experience was awesome.  When we broke a line or missed a fish, they felt bad but didnt run us down for our lack of skill.  We had plenty of different species we landed, a lot of catch and release due to season/edibility, but still caught way too much in-season fish for the coolers.  Mike’s charter and trip were worth the drive from NM.  Cant wait to do it again.  Rarely write positive or negative experiences, but these guys did it right.  Cant go wrong with Mike/line check charters, and look forward to the next trip!

Captain Mike met with us and left us in good hands with Captain Brian and First Mate Devin.  We had an absolute blast.  We caught so many shark that our kids were actually getting tired of catching sharks, which I think is a great thing because this was their first experience and they were so excited to catch a shark.  We turned on the A/C for a while and switched to Sheepshead, Mackeral, and trout.  Got hold of a very big shark in that spot that I’m sad to say I let off the hook before we landed it, and then the highlight was the sting ray, had to be 100 lbs and they put up a good fight.  Captain Brian fileted and bagged our catch while First Mate Devin thoroughly cleaned the boat for the next day.  Got some really good cooking advice from Captain Brian and went straight back to the hotel grill and had fresh fish for supper.  Can’t wait to return next year, and I’ll be booking Line Check before I book my hotel to make sure I can fish with this awesome outfit again.  Thanks guys for the exceptional service!

We had a great time fishing with Captain Mike, he is a very skilled and knowledgeable captain and put us on the fish right away.  We opted for bigger fish fighting and Captain Mike literally hooked us up, we filled our tags on big Reds and moved out a little further for some shark fishing.  My group had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Captain Mike to anyone wanting to charter a fishing trip, the fishing experience and atmosphere he provided well exceeded our expectations.

Originally scheduled a half-day charter during the afternoon, per Captain Mike’s suggestion the day prior, he easily accommodated us with a morning trip instead, due to impending weather conditions. Although the weather yielded choppy waves and cold and strong breezes, we still hit Red Drum fish gold, under Mike’s watch.

Captain Mike and his deckhand Josh were extremely personable, excellently equipped, well prepared, and very knowledgeable at fishing the area, specifically for Red Drum fish on the jetty: we landed at least 15 (we lost count) large Red Drum fish during our four-hour trip, even though another boat had taken Captain Mike’s preferred spot.
