Captain
Brennan Merrell

Member since October 2016 Jacksonville, United States
Background
Captain Brennan is an avid angler of anything that swims, especially Snapper, Kingfish, Cobia, Grouper, Dolphin (Mahi), Redfish, Sheepshead, Flounder, and Trout. He is keen on showing his guests a great time and loves taking kids out on the water. Captain Brennan says: "I have worked as an offshore captain running charters off Jacksonville for over a decade and I even worked in the Florida Keys as a fishing/snorkeling captain for the Boy Scouts high adventure camp called Sea Base during 2007. I know how to find the fish and will show you an awesome time! I am a proud father who plans on teaching his child everything he knows about fishing."
Techniques
Captain Brennan fishes offshore Jacksonville out of Mayport for bottom fish or trolling. He fishes on as light tackle as possible to ensure a fun time! You will likely anchor on a spot to bend some rods! The captain fishes in several different ways. Big bottom fishing rods – some rigged with two hooks to target stringer – will target the big fish on the reef One or two people will fish the lighter rods to get the mid-water column fish, and finally, the captain will put out a flat line to target Kingfish, Dolphin, or Sailfish! If trolling, you will slow troll for Kingfish, Dolphin, Sailfish, or Tuna. If you're looking for a Redfish charter, the captain fishes around the tides, so every trip will have a different start time. Captain Brennan prefers to fish 2-3 hours before high tide and 2-3 hours after.
