From start to finish Captain Nelson went above our expectations. From meeting us the night before to explain the fishing day to picking us up at the hotel, he catered to our every need to make it a great day. Fishing was excellent, he put us on fish almost immediately. We caught 29 fish total. 1 king fish, 2 Wahoo, 1 Jack, and 25 Mau Mau. Jeffery the deck hand worked non stop to provide us with 5 lines in the water at all times. There was more than once that we had 5 fish on at a time. Great day! Don’t be sold short by what is offered to you by the hotel. You get your monies worth and more, no false promises, he is an honest captain who truly loves fishing.  Thanks again guys it was fun.

This charter went great! Three of my friends and I went on the Carnival Conquest and Amber Cove was the first port of call. I enjoy excursions so I arranged with Nelson a pickup outside of the dock. He was there on time and promptly took us to the boat. We caught barracuda and mahi mahi all day. His assistant was very helpful and friendly. Additionally, he cooked the mahi on board which was great. He has an excellent recipe for mahi. Since we had extra time on the island before the boat departed, he even offered to take us to some local bars. His customer service skills are incredible and overall the trip was well worth the price. Captain Nelson, thank you so much for everything!

Captain Herrera runs a very professional fishing guide business and I trusted him for the day with my family including my wife and three young children. He picked us up from the cruise port and got us back at the perfect time to catch the boat. When we arrived he had the boat ready to go and we were able to get on and leave immediately. He is a very knowledgeable boat operator and fishing guide. He tried as hard as he possibly could to get on the fish the day we were there and he had five trolling lines out for sport fish the entire six hours of the trip. Captain Herrera was very friendly, speaks good English, and he and his first mate were very good with my kids. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a fishing guide while you are visiting the Dominican Republic. You can tell that he has decades of experience on the water and he genuinely treated us like family while we were there, making the trip as comfortable as possible.

This was my first experience deep sea fishing and one of the best memories of my life.
It took Captain Nelson just minutes to find.. and me over an hour to reel in an 80lb White Marlin.
This is by far the biggest fish I have ever caught.
My next trip to the Dominican Republic will definitely include a fishing trip with Captain Nelson.
Nelson shared his knowledge, not only as a fishing guide but as a Dominican historian as well.

Capt Nelson picked us up at are rented villa at 6am.  He spoke excellent English so there weren’t any communication issues.  We had a half day trip and Nelson and crew made us feel welcome as well as working hard to find some fish.  We did catch 4 mahi-mahi on the day.  My wife got to bring in one of them a first for her.  At the end on the trip they cleaned and filleted 2 on the fish for us to take back to our villa.  It was a great experience and I would definetly choose Capt Nelson for our next fishing trip. 
P.S.  We cooked the fish on the grill and it was delightful.
