I want to make sure everyone understands the fishing in the Dominican, the captain and crew works hard to put you on fish , I targeted a marlin in which they rig completely different than the other fish , you spend a lot of time trolling which gets very boring at times for a chance to catch a marlin 200 plus.  I would highly suggest if you have kids or get bored fast , tell captain Nelson to bring rigging for other fish including bottom fishing , marlin aren’t there by the 1000s so the chance of catching one, is a luck of the draw but when you do it’s amazing .
I did end of with some barracuda and a wahoo in which he offered to cook for me, but I was headed to dinner with friends , his English is good , he took and showed me his house , made me a drink while waiting for my ride , they picked me up 45 min away at hotel , was on time and ready to go , I brought snacks in which I did not need , he had sandwiches, chips , fruit , drinks , was a tough day fishing but it happens, it’s fishing not catching , they did all they could do , we ran 20 miles plus looking for them , water was dirty which made the marlin spread out captain said
I would definitely use him again , he offered me to stay at his house by beach to go try again but was limited on time before heading home ,and to mention he had pump trouble on motor nite before and worked till 2am replacing it, so as not to cancel , the man and crew worked hard I’m telling ya , just wasn’t my day for a blue marlin , but will for sure be back to give it another shot , he will give you his private number to keep in touch

We had a great time. The weather was cloudy and rainy, and, the seas were ROUGH! Captain Nelson and first mate(so bad of me to not have the name) but I was one of the many who were having a bad time with the roughness of the trip. Both of them did their best to make the trip enjoyable for those that were sick. First mate did an excellent job getting people to the railing, holding hair, and them.
The lucky 2 that were not sick were entertained by the first mate, fed drinks if they wanted them and they were able to hook up and catch 2 Dorado(Mahi Mahi).
Captain Nelson and “first mate” were friendly, welcoming, and just a pleasure to be around. I would highly recommend booking their charter

Great day of fishing!  As a life long fishing guide and resort owner I was very pleased and happy with the service from Captain Nelson and his first mate.  Very friendly and professional and kept the mood on boat fun and relaxing at all times.  Asked us what we were looking for in are experience and delivered right from picking us up at the hotel to dropping us off.  Everybody in family got fish which is a bonus.  Lots of action all day and nice equipment to fish with as well.  I recommend this to any one that is going to the Dominican and likes to fish.  As a fisherman I would recommend booking the full day as well as the 8 hours allows you better chance of landing fish as fish will not always bite all day long and then you also get some good food and snacks as well.  Only down fall is I wish I would of booked another day and can not wait to go back.  Memories of a life time made.

I’ve been fishing for about 10 years and Captain Nelson is the best one by far that I’ve met. He got me on the fish and kept me on the fish. He even offered to keep out longer for a certain per hour cause the fishing was so good. He is kind, experienced, knowledgeable and speaks perfect english. He picked me up and dropped me off and I was an hour away. He is also a great driver. I felt very safe on his boat and his crew were very nice. I would come come back to DR just for him. Look no further, this is the real deal.  The whole experience was very organized right from booking the trip.  It was an adventure of a lifetime.  The Captain really puts the effort in to getting you reeling.  Will definitely book again in future trips to the DR.  If it wasn’t for my wife I would do it 5 days a week lol.
